Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. At Eglin Air Force Base, SA-TECH provides Range support services including Marine Operations O&M, O&M and engineering support for all remote-controlled Foreign Military Equipment (FME) land targets and sea targets, as well as O&M for Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and associated range instrumentation systems. We also provide Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) as well as management oversight, design, integration, installation and pre- and post-test operations. SA-TECH conducts concurrent land operations on Eglin Test and Training Range and seaborne operations in the Eglin Gulf Test and Training Range (EGTTR), plus deployed training missions outside of ECTTR along the Texas coastline and in the Key West, FL vicinity, keeping EW, communication and instrumentation systems, and land and marine targets and support vessels operational to meet a demanding mission operations tempo.
We are currently looking to hire an Engineering Technician IV (Field Engineer) with additional responsibilities as an on-site IT resource at Eglin AFB, FL.

Typical duties in this role are (although not limited to just these):
- Perform field work or support for radar installations and testing.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or ticketing system
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and radar-related systems
- Assist in setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT and electronic equipment
- Document support requests and resolutions in the help desk system
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support when necessary
- Office-based or hybrid support role - although most work will be performed indoors in an office environment, there will be some field work, which would be outdoors under the prevailing climate conditions at the time.
- May require occasional lifting of equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Flexible hours, including potential weekend or on-call shifts.
- Field work or support for radar installations and testing.
- Job demands will require physical dexterity and flexibility.
- Must be physically able to sit, stand, kneel and climb.
- Must be willing and able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protectors, safety glasses, gloves, etc.
- Must comply with all applicable USAF and SA-TECH safety rules, regulations, and policies.
- Shift work may be required.
- Overtime required at times to support operations.
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or related field (preferred).
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification (preferred).
- Radar technician training or military radar systems experience (a strong plus).
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications.
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).
- Ability to diagnose and repair basic electronic components (e.g., circuit boards, connectors).
- Hands-on experience with radar systems (e.g., installation, calibration, fault isolation).
- Understanding of RF principles and signal processing basics.
- Ability to interpret radar schematics and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Patience and empathy when dealing with non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- US Driver's License required; must be insurable through our Company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours for as long as you are employed.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and clearance must be maintained throughout employment.
- All candidates will be required to pass a consumer report and/or consumer investigation to include SSN, Driver Record and Criminal Background Investigation.
- Must pass pre-employment physical to include: Drug Screen, Vision & Hearing testing, Medical Condition Certification and Back X-ray.
