Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Orchestration Automation Engineer to join a Federal Program located in Sierra Vista, AZ .
Responsibilities of the Orchestration Automation Engineer include:
· Operate and maintain secure, enterprise-level network solutions for the U.S. Army, providing Tier III support during business hours and on-call.
· Develop and implement automation workflows prioritized by the Global Cyber Center (GCC) to streamline operations and management tasks.
· Support GCC initiatives by addressing automation backlog, emergency workflows, and non-standard change requests.
· Analyze secure WAN architectures, including underlay, overlay, and transport layers, to ensure performance, QoS, security, and mission alignment.
· Manage and maintain Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) policies, supporting secure access solutions.
· Integrate capacity planning and scalability into operational processes for network and security environments.
· Escalate complex issues via Jira Service Desk and collaborate with higher-tier teams for resolution.
· Conduct legacy system discovery and capability assessments to support Army global network modernization.
· Identify and implement network optimization strategies to meet evolving performance and capacity requirements.
· Collaborate with information assurance and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security standards.
Qualifications for the Orchestration Automation Engineer include:
· Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or Master's with 6+ years (additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
· Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) required.
· Proven experience supporting Cisco SD-WAN and/or Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls.
· Strong understanding of networking protocols and concepts: LAN, WAN, BGP, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Layer 2/3 Routing, and Firewalls.
· Hands-on experience with enterprise network management tools such as Palo Alto Panorama, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, or Junos Space.
· Familiarity with multiple vendor technologies: Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Dell.
· Proficient in protocols including SFTP, SSH, SCP, SNMP, and NTP.
· Knowledge of virtualized network infrastructure and architectures.
· Understanding of SecDevOps methodologies and practices.
· Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification preferred.
· Must have an active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Compensation for the Orchestration Automation Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
