In this role you will produce and edit professional grade photo and video content to be used in publications, exhibits, presentations, and websites to deliver the intended message for multiple audiences.
As the Visual Information Specialist (Photo and Video Editor), you will...
- Apply your skills in photography and videography, as well as knowledge of the technical programs of record, subject matter or a program area to develop original concepts and content for publications, exhibits, or presentation materials.
- Generate new photo and video content that aligns with DoD Public Release requirements, edit and format visual products to align with spoken or written messaging in order to create holistic content. Subjects may include personnel portraits and activities, events, models; or physical reconstruction of scientific or technological artifacts.
- Serve as a Visual Information Specialist in developing visual products for various audiences to include (but not limited to): SSP leadership, operational offices, representatives from Congress and members of the U.S. Government (USG) and act as a technical consultant on all printing/electronic publishing-related matters.
- Advise clients, stakeholders, or staff on general, preliminary media content prior to submission of the end-product to subject matter expert for review.
What you bring to the table...
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or direct DoD Public Affairs experience
- Related work experience in photography and videography production and editing
- US Citizenship and an Active SECRET clearance, or a previously held SECRET clearance (within the last 2 years)
- Demonstrated experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Knowledge of, and experience with, the Department of the Navy Correspondence Manual and DoD Issuance Style Guide
- Experience with Information and Computer System workspace platform Confluence and agile project management tool Jira
- Previous experience supporting Department of the Navy programs in an analyst capacity
- Previous experience working with the TRIDENT II Weapon System material
