Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly-motivated Secret-Cleared VMware Engineer to support a federal program, located on-site at Andrews Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Requirements:
• Three (3) years of hands-on, professional years of experience as a VMware Engineer.
• ACTIVE Secret (or Top Secret) clearance.
• ACTIVE CompTIA Security+ and ACTIVE VMware certification.
• Ability to work on-site at Joint Base Andrews daily.
• Hands-on experience working with VMware Horizon, ESXi hosts and clusters, vSAN, VDI technologies.
Desired:
• Previous experience supporting government programs.
• VMware certifications to include Horizon certifications.
Responsibilities:
• Administer and manage the VMware Horizon VDI platform, including host deployment, remediation, and virtual machine configuration.
• Carry out updates, system maintenance, and troubleshooting for Unified Access Gateways (UAGs), Connection Servers, and vCenter environments.
• Retain up-to-date knowledge of ESXi hosts, cluster management, and vSAN storage systems.
• Handle App Volumes and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), with a working understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
• Build and maintain VDI Master Images, including Windows 10/11 base operating systems and applications specific to business needs.
• Possess a strong grasp of Horizon VDI architecture and infrastructure design principles.
• Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting capabilities in VDI environments, including Active Directory, VMware, and Horizon components.
• Offer guidance and support to junior staff members, including code and task reviews.
• Provide continuous support for customer operations in a 24/7/365 enterprise IT environment.
