Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the U.S. Space Force's Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO) in El Segundo, CA. This role involves supporting digital engineering, modeling and simulation, and systems analysis to evaluate and modernize space systems and architectures. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in systems modeling, software development, and digital engineering tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and document analytic frameworks for modeling and simulating Systems of Systems (SoS) and Families of Systems (FoS)
- Conduct trade studies and recommend modernization strategies for space, air, and surface mission systems
- Design, develop, and test software applications across the product lifecycle
- Translate system requirements into robust, test-driven software designs
- Collaborate with systems engineers and government stakeholders to define lifecycle requirements
- Perform code reviews and ensure software quality and compliance
- Support engineering process control and ensure disciplined, credible product development
- Assist in the procurement, integration, and maintenance of MBSE tools and environments
- Troubleshoot system issues and support digital engineering ecosystem integration
- Provide innovative, forward-thinking solutions to complex engineering challenges
Required Skills & Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in industry, federal government, or SETA/FFRDC roles supporting acquisition, modeling & simulation, or digital engineering
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, and experience with modeling tools like CAMEO, SysML, and Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA)
- Strong understanding of software development and systems engineering principles
- Ability to work independently and manage complex technical tasks
- Experience with digital engineering environments and model integration
- Knowledge of space systems is highly preferred
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $130,000 $150,000 (compensation varies on position and relevant years of experience and education)
- Benefits: Cigna medical, dental, vision, 401k, 20 days paid time off, 11 federal holidays, and sick leave as required by law
