ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Applications Engineer to join our team in the National Capital Region (NCR). This is a hybrid position.

As an experienced Applications Engineer, this individual will play a vital role in leading the development and enhancement of software solutions for the government client's desktop services. They will drive innovative approaches to improve IT efficiency and ensure robust, reliable support for federal agencies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of applications to enhance government desktop service delivery.
  • Collaborate with support teams to integrate applications with existing IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for application-related issues to ensure seamless user experience for government personnel.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for desktop service support processes through application innovation.
  • Ensure adherence to government IT policies, procedures, and security protocols in application development and deployment.
  • Design, develop, implement, and use continuous integration/continuous development tools, processes, and activities to support application and software development


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3+ years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ITIL certification
  • Extensive experience supporting and developing applications within a government or large enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and ticketing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior team members.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer, AWS Certified Developer).


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability prior to starting this position.


Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
