Test Engineer, Senior

SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for a Senior Test Engineer that plans, designs, and evaluates products to ensure that the final product is easily identifiable and thoroughly tested. The candidate shall design and implement system tests and collaborate with engineering, software development, and program teams to create detailed test plans that align with mission objectives and requirements.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Reviews requirements to ensures that tests will satisfy specifications and identify gaps.
• Collaborates with engineering, software development, and program teams to create detailed test plans that align with mission objectives and requirements
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure a smooth and efficient testing process.
• Proven track record in leading or executing comprehensive test strategies for complex software or hardware systems.
• Generates test data to validate functional and technical requirements.
• Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues effectively during the testing process.
• Leads/participates in project reviews.
• Provides documentation and regular progress reports for test cases.
• Oversees and directs work of junior test engineers.
• May serve as a technical team leader.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
• Ten (10)+ years of experience in Computer Science or Engineering field, to include: Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation support of C4ISR requirements.
• Five (5)+ years of technical experience in support of developing software applications using C, C++, C#, Java, assembly, or other compiled or real-time programming language.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Preferred:
o Previous experience with Navy Navigation systems or related navigation software systems.
o Experience with modern test automation tools and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
o Knowledge in advanced Mission Based Test Design (MBTES)
o Familiarity with Agile or iterative development processes, and the ability to adapt testing strategies accordingly.
o Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to increase efficiency and reliability in testing processes.
o Experience working in a lab environment.
o Familiarity with Linux OS
