Job Title: F-18 Avionics Technician
Location: New Orleans, LA 70143
Duration: 12 months assignment with possible FTE opportunity
Shift Schedule: 6: 30 AM to 3:30 pm
Pay Rate: $43/hr. on W2
Position Responsibilities:
• Technician maintains the following: Aircraft avionics/electrical and associated equipment
• Remove and install avionics/electrical and related components and gear
• Perform Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections.
• Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activities
• Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
• Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
• Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
• Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
• Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
• Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
• Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.
• Works under general direction.
• Prioritizes quality, product and people safety
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance
• Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
• Minimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes
