Job Description:
Analyze, design, code and test new or existing application programs. Support the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence community. Manage, Maintain and Support Day-to-Day Operations of NAVAIR Depot Maintenance System (NDMS), SingleSite, OneNDMS, Data Convergence, Corporate Reporting System (CRS) and Other Initiatives. Support development, standardization, testing, and quality assurance and configuration management procedures. Support standardization and maintenance of data dictionary, data structures and data repositories.
Specific Tasks:
· Data modeling/architect:
o Model in Kimball’s dimensional methodology using the Project Lead’s requirements.
o Design/modify logical and physical dimensional models using Erwin to meet business' reporting requirements.
o Prepare and document standards and procedures for dimensional data modeling and naming conventions.
· Extract-Transformation, Load (ETL) Mapping Specifications:
o Prepare high-level ETL mapping specifications.
o Develop regression test scripts to validate ETL.
· Development:
o Develop stored procedures to populate new tables and columns.
o Develop regression test scripts to validate stored procedures.
· Troubleshooting:
o Perform data analysis across multiple databases to identify source of data issues.
o Determine best resolution for data issues and anomalies.
o Revise ETL mapping specifications and/or stored procedures as required.
o Revise associated regression tests as required.
· Manage the overall Data Warehouse Data Architecture
o Establish and maintain Virtual Private Database (VPD) security policies.
o Ensure Data Architecture follows best practices and guidelines for Data Warehousing.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Active Secret Clearance.
· Security+ (may be obtained) and Certified Business Intelligence Professional
· Data modeling (Kimball’s or similar methodology preferred).
· Bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or engineering or 8 eight years of combined education (at the undergraduate level in any academic field) and experience performing the foregoing functions.
