Job Description

As a Security Officer - Utility Site in Rockville, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .

As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a utilities location by focusing on access control responsibilities. Your primary duties will include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and managing badge access to help to deter unauthorized activity. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to everyone you encounter. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at utility locations.
• Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to site procedures.
• Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal team members to maintain a secure environment.
• Assist with the implementation of site-specific security-related policies and procedures as directed by management.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
