Responsibilities

Be part of a fast-paced, high energy, team supporting Strategic Systems Programs Re-Entry Branch on the SLCM-N program as a Senior SLCM-N Systems Engineer. For this position, an in-depth understanding of DoD and NNSA acquisition and engineering practices is required to be successful. The Senior Engineer should be intimately familiar with nuclear weapon programs and be able to utilize tools such as DOORS, SYSMYL and Cameo. This position will require the candidate to represent the Re-Entry Branch at various meetings and have a comprehensive understanding of how to lead and manage a project from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesizes customer contractual needs, requirements, and technical, schedule and cost constraints into solutions for integrating, testing, evaluating, and transitioning systems into operations to deliver enterprise capabilities.
  • Establishes standards, practices, and procedures for integrating, testing, evaluating and transitioning systems and enterprise capabilities in coordination with multiple stakeholders across DoD and DoE.
  • Evaluates enterprise capabilities, architectures, system design concepts, requirements, risks and opportunities, and processes for integration, test, evaluation and transition impacts.
  • Designs, develops, and implements test and evaluation strategies, plans and methods to assure reliability of systems in conjunction with system specifications and defined enterprise capabilities, and integrates system and enterprise elements together so they work as a whole.
  • Lead engineering projects throughout their life cycle ensuring compliance with applicable government standards.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
  • Formulate Plan of Action and Milestones for projects and can collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure milestone accomplishments.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to create lower-level implementation requirements.
  • Establish and coordinate development standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Lead working groups as an action officer, compiling all necessary meeting materials and capable of writing technical meeting minutes.
  • Act as a customer liaison representing the Re-Entry Branch at various meetings.
  • Develop and review documentation and supporting material for technical accuracy.
  • Engage in design reviews to ensure traceability of requirements and compliance.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across multiple organizations for work performance.
  • Be data and process driven with the ability to identify areas of concern and able to provide recommendations for overall improvement.
  • Drive work products to closure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Engineering Bachelor or related technical degree and 8-10 years of experience, MS with 6-8 years of experience, a PhD with 3-5 years of experience. Education can be substituted for military service and subject matter expert knowledge on nuclear programs.
  • Must maintain a current and active TS/SCI clearance.
  • The ability to work well within a team and the ability to collaborate on projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to author technical documentation
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • A passion for learning, helping others, sharing team knowledge, and contributing value to the mission in any way possible.

Desired:

  • Prior Submarine senior enlisted leader or Navy Officer.
  • SSP Experience and NNSA Experience.
  • DOT&E Experience.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
