ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Engineer to join our team in the National Capital Region (NCR). This is a hybrid position
As a Network Engineer focusing on Data Security, this individual will design and secure the network infrastructure supporting government desktop services. The individual will provide a full range of network systems engineering support services, including but not limited to analyzing and optimizing network architecture and performance, installing and configuring bridges, routers, hubs, gateways and other network devices for optimal performance and supporting connectivity to other networks and facilities. Their expertise will be vital in safeguarding federal data and ensuring robust, compliant network operations for our clients.

As a Network Engineer focusing on Data Security, this individual will design and secure the network infrastructure supporting government desktop services. The individual will provide a full range of network systems engineering support services, including but not limited to analyzing and optimizing network architecture and performance, installing and configuring bridges, routers, hubs, gateways and other network devices for optimal performance and supporting connectivity to other networks and facilities. Their expertise will be vital in safeguarding federal data and ensuring robust, compliant network operations for our clients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure to support government desktop services.
- Monitor network performance and security logs, identifying and mitigating potential threats.
- Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Ensure network architecture adheres to government security mandates and compliance standards; assist in establishing and updating standards for information systems procedures.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex network and data security issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 3+ experience with network security best practices and technologies in a government or highly regulated environment.
- Proficiency with various network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP) and VPN solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for network and security incidents.
- Certifications such as CCNA or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, or CCNP Security.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- ITIL Foundation or advanced ITIL certifications.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an active Secret Clearance
- Must be able to obtain a DHS Suitability
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
