Position: HVAC/R Mechanic
Location: Silverdale, Washington
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC/R Mechanic to install, service, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in a variety of facilities, including residential spaces, commercial buildings, laboratories, and galleys. This position plays a critical role in ensuring environmental control systems operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems using knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and system layout
• Fabricate and install ductwork, tubing, and piping; solder joints and perform system leak tests
• Mount compressors and condenser units; install evaporators and expansion valves
• Connect electrical components and test system functionality
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and adjust systems for optimal performance
• Replace defective parts including thermostats, breakers, fuses, and wiring
• Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks
• Install, repair, and service air conditioners ranging from ¼ ton to 385 tons cooling capacity in large and small buildings
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
What We're Looking For:
• Minimum 4 years of experience in HVAC/R mechanical repair
• Evidence of successful completion of at least two vocational education training courses in refrigeration, air conditioning, and controls (e.g., vocational tech school, community college, military training, or reputable correspondence programs)
• EPA Certification – Class I & II (Universal preferred)
• Solid understanding of HVAC/R troubleshooting, diagnostics, and tools of the trade
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering specifications
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to meet background, drug screening, and physical requirements (including ability to lift 50 lbs and respirator qualification)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Basic computer skills; knowledge of HVAC PRO or similar systems is a plus
