Job Summary
AC4S is seeking a Deputy Team Lead at the Naval Station in San Diego, CA. In this role,
you'll be a vital contributor to U.S. Navy ship and submarine maintenance, specializing in
corrosion control field support. You'll work closely with the Team Lead to address critical
corrosion issues, ensuring the longevity and operational readiness of naval assets.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


Actively participate in identifying, assessing, and mitigating shipboard corrosion
control issues on both U.S. Navy ships and submarines. (This includes hands-on
field support to address immediate concerns).



Analyze complex corrosion problems, identify effective solutions, and support their
implementation, often requiring a deep understanding of the unique challenges of
the marine environment.



Apply your understanding of technical requirements for both Hull, Mechanical &
Electrical (HM&E) and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat
Systems, and Intelligence (C5I) systems and equipment, ensuring corrosion control
strategies align with system integrity.



Provide expert insight and hands-on support related to the use of various surface
preparation tools, corrosion control techniques, and coating system application
tools. You'll be proficient with the types of coating systems specifically used on U.S.
Navy ships or within the broader marine industry.



Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and experience with the constraints
associated with shipboard organizational level corrosion control and preservation
maintenance, adapting strategies to operational realities.



Stay current with and provide input on new and emerging corrosion control
technologies and their practical application on U.S. Military (Navy and/or Coast
Guard) ships and boats, ensuring the adoption of cutting-edge solutions.

Skills & Abilities:


Experience with mitigating shipboard corrosion control issues, identifying solutions,
and understanding technical requirements for shipboard HM&E and C5I systems
and equipment



Experience working with and understanding constraints associated with shipboard
organizational level corrosion control and preservation maintenance



An understanding of new corrosion control technologies and how they may be
implemented on U.S. Navy and/or Coast Guard ships/boats

Education & Experience:


7 years' experience in the corrosion control field supporting U.S. Navy ship and
submarine maintenance.



Knowledge on the use of surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques,
coating system application tools and types of coating systems used on U.S. Navy
ships or in the marine industry.



AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 3) Certification



High school diploma, related military experience, be a trade/industrial school
graduate.



CAC eligible, background and drug test.

Physical Requirements:


Naval or Ship setting, must have the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands
and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for longs periods of time, lift and hold up to 50
lbs., talk, hear and sit.



Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the ship site in all types of weather.
Subject to hot, cold, humid and wet conditions depending on location.



Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other
business machines. Use hands to finger, handle, and feel.



While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand
and walk varying distances.
