Great Hill Solutions, LLC is seeking a skilled Systems Analyst III to support the Biostatistics, Economics, and Modeling Unit at the CDC. This role is essential for providing technical consultation and oversight in the collection, management, and analysis of surveillance data for respiratory viral infections. The Systems Analyst III will contribute to the development of statistical models, data quality assurance, and the preparation of scientific reports and manuscripts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an expert statistical consultant for biostatistics, economics, and modeling projects.
  • Provide technical consultation on the collection, management, and analysis of surveillance data.
  • Develop and review study protocols, questionnaires, and data collection forms.
  • Ensure data integrity through quality assurance guidance and documentation.
  • Maintain IRB approvals and liaise with investigators and data managers.
  • Assist in the preparation and clearance of scientific manuscripts and presentations.
  • Write and troubleshoot SAS programs and manage epidemiologic databases.
  • Produce technical reports and participate in outbreak investigations.
  • Develop data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as R, SAS, and Power BI.
  • Support daily activities and respond to inquiries related to respiratory virus data.
Basic Qualifications:
  • MS with 10+ years' experience or PhD with 7-10+ years' experience.
  • Experience in statistical analysis, epidemiology, or related public health fields.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Work experience in the scientific field, including physician, epidemiologist, clearance reviewer, or related field (preferably in a public health setting).
  • Knowledge of and experience working with clinical data.
  • Knowledge of and experience conducting inferential statistical analyses such as regression, correlation, or time-to-event analyses.
  • Experience writing, reviewing and editing scientific publications.
  • Expertise working with R.
  • Expertise working with SAS maintain data dashboards in Power BI.
  • Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Mail).
  • Ability to effectively communicate content needs at all briefings to assist with communication Strategy.
  • Ability to identify gaps in existing resources.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Ability to work as needed after hours and on weekends.
  • Interpersonal communication: telephone, email, and business etiquette.
  • Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working with CDC staff at multiple organizational levels.
  • Experience in facilitating quick turn-around for complex documents. Experience in the scientific field, including epidemiologist, clearance reviewer, or related field.
