Avionics/Electrical Maintenance Technician
New Orleans, AL
Contract Position
$35.89-$43.93/Hour

Responsibilities:
- Maintain, remove, install, and upgrade aircraft avionics and electrical components.
- Perform daily, pre-flight, post-flight, and periodic inspections to ensure aircraft safety and mission readiness.
- Execute flight operation activities, including launch, recovery, and plane captain duties.
- Assemble, disassemble, and modify aerospace systems to resolve faults or implement system updates.
- Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate and repair issues.
- Conduct validation and verification testing of systems and components.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards through proper documentation (repairs, test results, modifications, etc.).
- Inspect components and verify repairs meet flightworthiness requirements.
- Provide training and technical oversight to junior team members.
- Adhere to safety protocols and promote quality-first practices across all maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; equivalent military or vocational training accepted.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Minimum 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance.
- At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Willingness to work variable shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as mission needs dictate.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and environments with loud noise and exhaust exposure.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in fighter aircraft avionics/electrical modifications.
- F/A-18 AT/AE platform qualifications.
- Familiarity with U.S. Navy 4790.1 maintenance requirements.
