Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter to join a National Security Contract located in Quantico, VA through 100% full onsite presence . The Sign Language Interpreter will provide professional ASL services and support mission-critical communication within the DOD & Intelligence Community. When not interpreting, duties include coordination activities such as asset management, crisis response support, and contributing to the Enterprise Coordination Center's operation needs.

Responsibilities of the Sign Language Interpreter include:
- Provide professional ASL interpretation between hearing & deaf/hard of hearing individuals in meetings, conversations, and operational settings
- Ensure interpretation is delivered in the individual's preferred mode & maintain effective communication throughout sessions
- Convey technical & time-sensitive information accurately, including during critical intelligence briefings or crisis events
- Maintain & apply functional knowledge of RID ethical standards & Code of Professional Conduct
- Prepare handoff & ensure smooth continuity when transitioning sessions to other interpreters or relief staff
- Support Enterprise Coordination Center (ECC) duties such as threat roll-ups, RFI management, & operational updates during non-interpretation periods
- Assist with conference room scheduling, DTS coordination, & asset management tasks as needed
- Maintain professional appearance & discretion when operating in a sensitive cleared environment
Qualifications of the Sign Language Interpreter include:
- Language Proficiency: fluent in both spoken English & American Sign Language (ASL), with interpreting expertise across various settings
- Certifications: must hold National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Level III or higher, demonstrating professional interpreting capability
- Education: Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience
- Security Clearance: Active DOD TS/SCI required, willing to undergo random CI polygraph evaluations
- Knowledge of RID standards: strong understanding of the Registry of Interpreters for the Dead (RID) Code of Ethics & professional conduct
- Experience in DOD or IC: preferred experience with the Department of Defense, USMC, or the Intelligence Community, especially in sensitive mission environments
- Collaboration & Discretion: proven ability to build professional relationships, communicate effectively, & maintain confidentiality in high-stakes environments
- Flexible & Mission-Focused: willingness to adapt to changing needs including ECC support, scheduling tasks, & asset management - when interpretation duties are not required
