We are seeking a highly experienced Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive knowledge of military aviation and defense systems. This role is designed for a professional who excels in reliability, maintainability, test support, and data-driven decision making. The successful candidate will support acquisition and sustainment efforts for R&M Analysis tools and provide project leadership in lifecycle support planning while fostering cross-functional teamwork in a mission-critical environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide expert recommendations and guidance on requirements for reliability and maintainability tool development
  • Facilitate coordination between support teams, PMA activities and stakeholders
  • Represent the project team in Integrated Product Team meetings, Review Boards, and related cross-functional forums
  • Champion continuous improvement by refining processes, data workflows, and sustainment strategies
  • Manage the full lifecycle of projects related to military aviation and defense systems from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and sustainment
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with software test frameworks and defense requirements
  • Leverage integrated software solutions and relational databases to support seamless data collection and analysis
  • Implement best practices in test data collection, risk assessment, and reliability & maintainability analysis to inform decision-making and schedule performance
  • Identify potential project risks and performance deficiencies; develop and implement mitigation strategies based on data-centric assessments
  • Ensure strict adherence to compliance standards and government contracting requirements, maintaining clear fiscal accountability

Required Skills & Experience
  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • Master's degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
    • Allowable substitution: A bachelor's and 4 additional years of experience can be substituted for the Master's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in R&M analysis, and sustainment support in military aviation environments
  • Demonstrated understanding of R&M data and coordination of complex technical projects
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with experience briefing executive stakeholders and authoring lifecycle support documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects, translate R&M data into strategic decisions, and influence senior leadership

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Navy Aviation programs, including supportability analysis and operational test support
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-721/781/785 and other defense system reliability standards
  • Knowledge of Defense Acquisition University training or Program Management Level I certification
  • Proven track record of improving system performance and reliability metrics through innovative strategies

The proposed salary for this position is:

$105,200 - $175,300 USD
