The Defense Trade Analyst III will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating cases in various commodity categories related to defense trade. You will assess legal, policy, regulatory, and procedural considerations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, you will provide expert advice, guidance, and recommendations to stakeholders, both within and outside the organization. Estimated Starting Salary Range for Defense Trade Analyst III : Pay commensurate with experience.

Defense Trade Analyst III Responsibilities Include:
• Review, analyze, and evaluate cases in multiple commodity categories to identify legal, policy, regulatory, and procedural considerations.
• Collect and analyze data and information provided by U.S. industry and precedent cases.
• Refer significant cases to concerned agencies and bureaus, making recommendations as necessary.
• Participate in meetings to discuss case merits with stakeholders, considering national security and foreign policy considerations.
• Coordinate recommendations, approve or deny license applications and agreements, and draft necessary clauses and provisos.
• Determine the need for Congressional notification and prepare the required documentation.
• Identify cases requiring verification or potential investigation for violation activity.
• Engage with U.S. industry to provide guidance, interpret export policies, and offer training.
• Draft and coordinate various communications and represent the organization in export control and non-proliferation groups.
• Work closely with other government agencies and provide guidance on the EXODUS program.
• Stay updated on world events, foreign policy, and technological advances relevant to defense trade.
• Work with minimal supervision, manage assigned responsibilities, and analyze arms export control policies.
• Assist in formulating and executing new licensing policy initiatives.
• Perform licensing data analysis and draft relevant documents for approval.
• Provide guidance, training, and review completed work as necessary.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
Defense Trade Analyst III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with AECA and ITAR regulatory experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. foreign policy, national security, and legislation affecting arms transfers.
• Familiarity with DDTC registration, compliance, and licensing processes.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and partnering skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
• Ability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory material.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of office equipment and computer systems.
