Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Specialist III is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, including the receipt, thorough inspection, secure storage, and timely dispatch of equipment and parts for computer systems and IT facilities
- They possess a deep understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and relevant safety regulations
- They are highly proficient in the safe and efficient use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, and strictly adhere to all safety protocols and certification standards
- They collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, transportation providers, and other departments, to ensure seamless and timely movement of goods
- They maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities, including shipping manifests, receiving reports, and inventory transactions, using databases and spreadsheets to track and manage inventory levels with precision
- They actively participate in detailed inventory counts and audits, ensuring accuracy and promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies
- They proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of warehouse processes and procedures, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety
- They provide guidance and may assist in the training and onboarding of new warehouse personnel, sharing their knowledge and practical expertise to support team development
- The Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Specialist III provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, management science, business administration, or related discipline or 4 additional years' experience may be exchanged in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- 9+ years of experience 5+ years of position-specific relevant experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Experience with databases, spreadsheets, and computers.
- Possesses strong communications, organizational, analytical, time management, problem-solving, multitasking, and math skills.
- Proven experience with Diplomatic Pouch processes for shipping and receiving materials to/from OCONUS embassies.
- Demonstrated experience in operating forklifts, with a valid and current forklift certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with DoD warehouse systems and equipment as a contractor, civilian, or military personnel. Experience training other personnel on forklift operations and safety.
- Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
- Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
