Databricks Engineer - Multiple openings!
LaunchCode is recruiting for a Databricks Engineer to work with a company partner. They are seeking a candidate to join an exciting and growing opportunity within the Defense sector. The Databricks Engineer helps onboard new use cases and design scalable solutions to meet user requirements. Evaluates software and hardware solutions available in the market, compares them with the existing platform baseline. The Engineer works closely with stakeholders to distill requirements. Ensures the platform can support the functional and operational requirements of these use cases. Rolls out new capabilities as needed by the platform.
Position Type: Full-Time W-2 | Direct Hire position
Work Location: Scott AFB (Illinois): full-time on-site
Required Professional Experience: 3 years
Pay: $90,000 - $150,000 salary + benefits, DOE
Responsibilities
- Advise the client on strategy and assist with the design and implementation of comprehensive technical solutions to meet specific business needs.
- Develop technical frameworks and solutions within a Databricks environment based upon existing and evolving requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and developers, to gather requirements and ensure that the proposed solutions align with business goals and technical constraints.
- Oversee the implementation process, ensuring that the development phases are executed correctly and that the final solution meets the specified requirements
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience with Databricks development
- 1+ years of experience with Solutions/Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics
- 3+ years of experience with Python, Java, Shell Scripting, SQL, or R
- Experience with briefing senior leadership
- Experience working in a complex environment and managing competing priorities
- Experience working with product leaders to align and manage application and system roadmaps with - mission needs
- Interim Secret clearance or higher required (we can sponsor if eligible)
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree from an accredited university
Nice to Have:
- Experience with DoD networks and infrastructure
- Deep experience with Data Engineering Frameworks and Pipelines (using Apache Spark / Databricks)
- Experience with Big Data processing frameworks
- Experience developing architecture options for existing and new technologies
- Experience developing target architecture and road maps
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
