Overview
Mid-Level Data Engineer needed to support the maintenance and enhancement of enterprise ETL pipelines and data warehouse systems. This role involves working with Oracle HCM extracts, AWS S3 data integration, and Databricks-based workflows in support of DCHRMS initiatives.
Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a DoD Secret clearance.
Minimum Requirements:
• 3–10 years of directly related experience in data engineering or database development.
• B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with expertise in relational databases and constructing staging, fact, and dimension tables.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes and technologies including Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, and PL/SQL.
• Experience with Oracle HCM data extracts and cloud data structures such as AWS S3, Delta, and external tables.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and troubleshoot the CMIS ETL pipeline, resolving issues quickly.
• Develop and update ETL workflows to reflect new data elements and business requirements.
• Extract Oracle HCM data from DCHRMS and integrate it with AWS S3 and Databricks.
• Design and construct data models for staging, fact, and dimension tables.
• Create and refine reporting tables and support ongoing ETL enhancements.
• Ensure integration and performance optimization of data warehouse systems.
Skills and Proficiencies:
• Proficiency in Databricks and ETL pipeline development.
• Strong working knowledge of Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, and PL/SQL.
• Experience modeling, designing, and optimizing relational databases and data warehouses.
• Familiarity with Oracle HCM and cloud-based data storage systems like AWS S3.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, detailed results with minimal supervision.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
