TQI Solutions is seeking a Storage Administrator - Journeyman to support Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY). In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems and tape libraries, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability to meet the organization's evolving data needs.
Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain storage solutions, including NAS (Network Attached Storage) systems, and tape libraries.
• Ensure seamless integration between storage systems and network infrastructure, optimizing data flow and access across the organization.
• Perform daily checks to monitor storage and network performance, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks or issues proactively.
• Implement and enforce security protocols to protect data availability, integrity and confidentiality, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry standards. Timely vulnerability management (e.g., patches, STIGs, monitor and evaluate ACAS reports, TASKORDS).
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring data redundancy and quick recovery in case of system failures.
• Analyze current storage and network usage trends to forecast future needs and plan for scalability.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage and network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Develop and maintain SOPs.
• Work closely with other IT teams, including systems administrators and network engineers, to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
• 5 years of experience in storage and network administration, with a focus on enterprise environments.
• ServiceNow ticket management experience preferred.
• CompTIA Security+ and relevant certifications such as CompTIA Storage+, NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or similar required.
• Proficiency in storage technologies (SAN, NAS) required.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions required.
• Understanding of security best practices in storage and network environments required
• Tape drive experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, Fiber Channel) preferred.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) preferred.
• Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) preferred.
• This position may require occasional night, weekend or holiday support.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Candidates must be eligible for a background investigation.
