Overview

The Work

The Senior IT Specialist provides support to end users for Personal Computer (PC), server, or mainframe applications and hardware. This role may interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and identify and correct core problems. The Senior IT Specialist simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties, recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems, and maintains currency and the highest level of technical skill in the field of expertise.

This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to end users for PC, server, or mainframe applications and hardware.
  • Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and identify and correct core problems.
  • Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
  • Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems and improve overall system performance.
  • Maintain the highest level of technical skill and knowledge in the field of expertise.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Document and track issues, solutions, and user interactions to ensure comprehensive support records.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications - Here's What You Need
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Experience in providing technical support for PC, server, or mainframe applications and hardware.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Power Platform and SharePoint.
  • Ability to interact with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development teams.
  • Proficient in simulating or recreating user problems to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Ability to recommend and implement systems modifications to reduce user problems.
  • Commitment to maintaining current technical skills and knowledge in the field.
  • Experience with network services and software systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of current IT trends and technologies.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.


Minimum Skills Required:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

Reports to: Program Manager

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment.
  • Ability to work, M-F, between core hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM ET.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

USD $85,000.00 - USD $101,000.00 /Yr.
