TEKsystems is seeking Virtualization Engineers/VMware Migration Consultants to assist a client with VMware migration preparations. The team will sit operate remotely but will be required to travel on average once per month to client locations across the country.
DESCRIPTION:
- The candidate will need to have extensive VMware experience as well as a general IT background in Networking and Migrations.
- They will also need to have experience with either Zerto Configuration and Migrations or Disaster Recovery experience and good customer-facing skills as they will be attending meetings with the customer virtually and on-site.
- This will be a remote role with 20% travel required to customer sites within the Continental US to 6 main locations but proximity to sites is not required.
- The candidate will be provided with a GFE laptop, CAC card for remote access, and an HPE laptop for all other correspondence.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- VMware experience - dependency mapping and preparations for VM migrations
- Zerto Configuration and Migration
- Networking understanding
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Beyond technical skills, clients should be experienced in acting as a consultant to clients understanding and interpreting their requirements, explaining technical and non-technical steps in the migration preparation process, and helping to address any concerns, issues, or escalations.
Work Environment
- Remote with 20% travel (travel will be appx. 1/month to various customer sites)
- Must have the ability to travel and should be in close proximity to major airport
