Job Description
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches)
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Provide network support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the Army’s security team
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Requirements and skills
Proven hands-on network administration experience
Understanding of networking protocols
Understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
Active Secret Clearance at employment start date (an Active Interim Secret Clearance may substitute)
DoD 8570 IAT-II Certification (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA Security or other approved certification(s))
Preferred Qualifications:
An Associates degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
ITIL v3 Foundations Certification
