DESCRIPTION
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) team is seeking a Strategic Business Development Leader with deep missile defense expertise to shape and drive AWS cloud adoption with DoD missile defense programs. If you have extensive experience in missile defense systems and programs, with an interest in innovative cloud technologies, we want to talk to you. Your expertise will help modernize and transform critical missile defense capabilities that protect our nation and allies.
Key job responsibilities
Serve as the primary subject matter expert on missile defense systems, architectures, and programs, providing deep technical and programmatic expertise to shape AWS solutions for the missile defense mission
Develop and execute comprehensive engagement strategies for missile defense programs, leveraging your understanding of DoD acquisition processes, mission requirements, and technical architectures
Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the missile defense community, including Missile Defense Agency, Service Components, and prime contractors to identify opportunities for AWS capabilities to enhance mission effectiveness
Partner with AWS account teams to develop and validate technical solutions that address specific missile defense use cases, particularly in areas such as command and control, sensor integration, and data processing
Lead strategic initiatives with defense industry partners to create comprehensive solutions that integrate cloud and artificial intelligence capabilities into missile defense architectures
Guide internal AWS teams (sales, engineering, solutions architecture, professional services) to ensure solutions meet the unique requirements of missile defense programs
Represent AWS as a thought leader in the missile defense community, participating in relevant forums and helping shape the dialogue around modernization efforts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 6+ years of professional or military experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 10+ years of missile defense experience, either in military service, government civilian, or defense industry roles
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related)
- Demonstrated ability to interact with DoD senior leaders
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams
- Experience in business development or program management
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS experience is a plus)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
- Expertise in DoD mission specific use cases.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
