Overview:
Praxis Engineering is seeking a cleared Software Engineer (SWE3) to lead the development and deployment of a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) AI solution in a high-performance computing (HPC) Linux environment. This role focuses on large language models (LLMs), orchestration frameworks, containerized deployments, and GPU-accelerated systems.
The ideal candidate is an experienced developer with a deep understanding of secure AI/ML pipelines and modern DevSecOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deploy RAG-based AI applications
Implement containerized services using Docker, Podman, or containerd
Deploy and maintain services under Kubernetes or Docker Compose
Work with LLMs, embedding models, and knowledge retrieval frameworks
Develop in Python and Golang
Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI
Monitor infrastructure performance using Prometheus and Grafana
Use Git for version control and collaboration
Collaborate across engineering and security teams to ensure reliability and compliance
Required Skills:
7+ years of experience and a BS degree in CS, Engineering, or related field
Linux system administration and CLI experience
Python and Golang development experience
Familiarity with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and model orchestration frameworks
Experience with containerization and deployment in Kubernetes environments
Understanding of CI/CD tools and practices, especially GitLab CI
Monitoring and telemetry tools: Prometheus, Grafana
Version control with Git
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience debugging GPU-enabled applications
Familiarity with OpenAPI, HTMX, or Hyperscript
Experience with Spark, Dask, or Ray for distributed data workflows
Knowledge of AI inference tools (e.g., Nvidia NIM, Triton, vLLM)
Understanding of multi-GPU model training and hardware integration
Experience with SQL, Elasticsearch, or vector databases
Use of Atlassian tools like Confluence and Jira
