Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Network Engineer to support large-scale systems integration, secure network operations, and cloud infrastructure design for a U.S. Government customer. The selected candidate will lead the development, deployment, and sustainment of resilient network solutions, while also contributing to cyber defense, cloud migration planning, and enterprise architecture integration.
This is a multifaceted role requiring expertise in cloud and on-prem network environments, cybersecurity frameworks, and Agile program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable network environments, including multi-cloud infrastructures.
• Provide technical configuration, installation, and maintenance of workstations and servers with current OS/software patching.
• Evaluate cloud services and strategies to deploy capabilities that meet mission requirements.
• Lead system integration and program management efforts for complex IT initiatives.
• Analyze business applications and translate them into system requirements.
• Develop and deliver technical documentation, user manuals, training materials, and troubleshooting guides.
• Support cyber defense strategies to protect IT assets from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Oversee system security architecture, develop policies, and obtain authorization to operate.
• Coordinate and lead Scrum Teams using Agile methodology to deliver high-quality results.
• Conduct engineering review boards and brief senior-level stakeholders on technical proposals and system plans.
• Prepare budget spend plans and program reports, including meeting facilitation and action item tracking.
• Organize and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Experience managing IT programs, coordinating schedules, meetings, and deliverables.
• Strong background in system integration, infrastructure planning, and technical coordination.
• Proven success preparing technical proposals and documentation for formal reviews.
• Expertise in designing and deploying cloud-enabled and traditional network environments.
• Ability to develop and implement network security frameworks and obtain system accreditations.
• Experience leading Agile teams and utilizing Scrum practices in technical environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief executives.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver network architecture and cyber-secure infrastructure solutions.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Skills
• Ability to assess enterprise-level network requirements and recommend scalable solutions.
• Experience coordinating technical deliverables across engineering and architecture teams.
• Proven ability to manage risks, schedules, and develop contingency plans.
• Experience briefing stakeholders and leadership on network strategies and program status.
• Background in supporting multi-cloud innovation, data flow integration, and domain transfers.
• Familiarity with audit log monitoring and accreditation compliance.
• Experience providing O&M support for networks and systems, including documentation for approval boards.
