Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead complex technical efforts in support of secure enterprise IT environments for a U.S. Government customer. This role requires demonstrated expertise in system integration, cloud strategy, cyber defense, and IT program management. The selected candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network environments, modern infrastructure, and mission-aligned technology solutions.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical writing, communication, and Agile leadership capabilities in dynamic operational settings.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage system integration and oversee delivery of complex IT programs.
• Facilitate and participate in stakeholder meetings, TEMs, and technical discussions.
• Coordinate program schedules, action item tracking, and program reporting.
• Prepare program plans, budget spend plans, and status reports.
• Analyze functional applications and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop technical proposals for engineering review and system approval.
• Evaluate and select cloud services to support capability design and deployment.
• Design and maintain secure and modern network environments across cloud and on-prem platforms.
• Configure and support modern server/workstation environments, including hardware installation and patching.
• Plan and implement cybersecurity infrastructure, policies, and defensive measures.
• Lead Scrum teams using Agile practices to deliver high-impact products.
• Create technical documents including user guides, SOPs, and training materials.
• Coordinate architectural reviews and integrated system deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Proven experience managing large IT programs and integration efforts.
• Experience with technical planning, risk mitigation, and schedule management.
• Demonstrated success designing and securing cloud infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with cyber defense tools and network monitoring.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Experience preparing and presenting proposals to engineering boards.
• Experience in systems accreditation processes and documentation.
• Ability to lead Agile teams and deliver secure enterprise solutions.
• Proficiency in coordinating across multi-functional technical teams.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Skills
• Ability to assess network requirements and propose practical architecture solutions.
• Experience developing cohesive technical roadmaps across programs.
• Experience briefing leadership and technical stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and modernization strategies.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and security teams.
• Experience preparing technical packages for engineering and approval boards.
