The Opportunity:
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency ( DARPA ) is looking for a talented photographer to work in a high-paced environment with an office known for its high caliber of work. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable collaborating with colleagues across a range of technical subject matters, bringing a creative eye and professional expertise to every project. The candidate should also be open to learning new skills to branch into additional storytelling platforms as the needs of the office evolve, and will have strong communication skills and comfort working with both creative and technical staff.
In this role, you will work closely with staff and stakeholders to develop, recommend, and finalize shot lists for events, portraits, or promotional materials. You will select and recommend impactful images to highlight key events or projects, aligning visuals with the office's messaging and priorities, and will ensure all delivered images meet high standards for resolution, color accuracy, sharpness, and cropping appropriate to the intended use, including print, web, and displays. You will work with the public affairs and web development team to create photo galleries at multiple sizes and formats for web and so cia l media posting.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $53,000.00 to $108,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.

You Have:
- Experience photographing live conferences, meetings, and corporate events, capturing candid and posed images under various lighting c ond itions
- Experience in field photography at offsite locations, where trials, demonstrations, or experiments are actively c ond ucted
- Experience setting-up and operating studio lighting for individual and group portraits, including product photography, and using on-camera and off-camera flash equipment
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop and Lightroom, for color correction, retouching, compositing, and preparing images for print and digital media
- Experience with professional photo archive management sof tware
- Knowledge of color temperature and white balance for accurate skin tone reproduction
- Knowledge of best practices for consistent file naming, embedding metadata, and cataloging images for easy retrieval and compliance with industry standards
- Ability to adapt to and shoot effectively in multiple lighting scenarios such as natural light, ambient light, and artifi cia l or stage lighting
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
- Experience creating marketing materials or so cia l media content with graphic design
- Experience with motion graphics or videography capabilities, including shooting, basic editing, and integrating videos for presentations or digital signage
- Experience maintaining and updating content on digital screens or displays
- Experience working with Canva Pro
- Secret clearance
