Maintenance Mechanic

***This position requires an active Public Trust clearance.***

As a Maintenance Mechanic at Cherokee Federal you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in our facility. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to ensure the efficient operation of equipment and minimize downtime.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Maintenance Mechanic: $50,000 -$60,000
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.


Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and execute timely repairs to maintain production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to diagnose faults and implement solutions.
  • Install, adjust, and maintain industrial equipment, including motors, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment to complete repairs.
  • Fabricate and replace defective parts as needed.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Maintenance Mechanic Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, welding, and fabrication techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and workplace best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs and automation systems is a plus.
