GENERAL DUTIES:

CLEARANCE:
- Operational Planning Support: Provide subject matter expertise to develop and facilitate Concepts of Operation (CONOPs), Courses of Action (COAs), Operational Orders (OPORDs), Contingency Plans (CONPLANs), and other planning documents supporting ASO, UW, PE, NAR, PR, and SAR activities across the USNORTHCOM AOR.
- Sensitive Activities & HUMINT Coordination: Assist in coordinating and developing sensitive collection activities, information requests, and mission requirements related to HUMINT and other compartmentalized programs. Evaluate reports and make operational recommendations based on collected intelligence.
- Strategic Briefing Development: Prepare and deliver twice-weekly strategic briefings for the SOCNORTH Commander, informing Combatant Commands, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, OSD, Intelligence Community partners, and Congress on ASO capabilities and operations.
- Interagency Engagement: Attend and support coordination and de-confliction meetings with Combatant Commands, interagency partners, and law enforcement entities. Document discussions and outcomes in standardized reporting formats.
- Collection Integration: Facilitate the development and integration of collection strategies that align ASO with long-range campaign plans, incorporating HUMINT support into broader special operations and intelligence efforts.
- Operational Risk Mitigation & OPSEC Compliance: Track ongoing special operations activities across the AOR, assess potential risk areas, and ensure operational security (OPSEC) is applied across all plans, briefings, and communications.
- Exercise & Contingency Support: Participate in up to two multi-day exercises or contingency operations annually. Flexibility in work hours, including shift work and extended days, will be required during these events.
- Knowledge Management: Maintain current expertise in Joint Special Operations Forces (JSOF) doctrine, tactics, and adversary threat methodologies. Use this knowledge to inform planning and support efforts.
- Official Documentation: Support the drafting of official message traffic (e.g., AMHS, Coordination Element cables), while recognizing that all final products are subject to government approval and policy authority.
REQUIRED QUALFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience within Special Operations units or Special Operations staffs conducting military operational planning in support of real-world operations, exercises, and investments.
