As the ISSO, you will provide support to NAVAIR's Naval Aviation Training Systems and Ranges Program Office, PMA-205. This will be an audit-focused ISSO position - qualified candidates should have demonstrated experience performing system and network audits leveraging SolarWinds tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, executing, and documenting security audits using SolarWinds tools, including log analysis, configuration reviews, vulnerability scanning, and performance monitoring to identify security gaps and non-compliance.
- Serving as the primary subject matter expert for leveraging SolarWinds Security Event Manager (SEM), Network Performance Monitor (NPM), Server & Application Monitor (SAM), and other relevant SolarWinds modules to conduct thorough security audits of network devices, servers, applications, and cloud environments.
- Proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information system security policies, standards and methodologies.
- Performing vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated benchmarks.
- Implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
- Performing security control continuous monitoring, security audits, risk analysis and developing mitigation strategies for DoD information systems.
- Identifying Common Criteria and National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) certified technologies and the DISA Approved Products List (APL).
- Preparing certification letters and Memoranda of Agreements (MoA) with system owners for interface and networking implementations.
- Position may require flexibility in working hours.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related STEM degree, preferred.
- 5 years of functional, ISSO experience, required.
- Proven proficiency with SolarWinds software, specifically SolarWinds Security Event Manager (SEM) for log aggregation and analysis, and other relevant modules for network and system monitoring/auditing, required.
- Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated benchmarks.
- Implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
- Performing security control continuous monitoring, security audits, risk analysis, and developing mitigation strategies for DoD information systems.
- Identifying Common Criteria and National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) certified technologies and the DISA Approved Products List (APL).
- Preparing certification letters and Memoranda of Agreement (MoA) with system owners for interface and networking implementations.
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, DoDD 5205.07, and DOD 5205.07-M Volumes 1-4.
- Candidates must hold a current IAM Level II certification (e.g., ClSSP, CISM, CASP+ or SecurityX, CAP) as defined by DoD 8570.01-M. Security Clearance Requirement:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- The estimated salary range for this position will be $135,000 - $155,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
