General Description:
The Test and Metrology group at MTL is looking for an experienced FIB/SEM/STEM engineering technician to create cross-sections and ultra-thin lamellas to produce high resolution images utilizing the FIB and SEM/STEM for Third (night) Shift. Candidate may also perform semiconductor wafer processing in key metrology modules in a cleanroom laboratory under general supervision.
Essential Duties:
Operate the in-house FEI Dual Beam FIB/SEM to clearly image and identify sub-nm semiconductor features.
Should be able to create ultra-thin lamellas to produce high resolution images utilizing the FIB and SEM/STEM.
Should be able to produce summary reports on a timely basis.
Should be able to perform semiconductor wafer processing in key metrology modules in a cleanroom laboratory.
Follow detailed Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to perform measurement instructions and daily tasks within the module. This position includes hands-on wafer processing as well as operation of production-oriented, automated semiconductor equipment.
Other general activities include: wafer handling, mounting/demounting, basic inspection, measurement and data entry.
Required Skills:
3+ years of experience with the Dual Beam FIB and SEM/STEM/TEM
An ability to function and complete tasks in a deadline driven environment
Detail-oriented analysis of cross sections of resist, dielectrics and metalized nano-structures
Proven ability to produce high quality images and data using a FIB and SEM/STEM/TEM.
Good understanding of the fundamental principles of SEM/FIB tooling and technology is desired
Familiarity and experience with FEI dual beam systems, including its capabilities and limitations is desired
Understanding of the Gas Injection System chemistries and their associated applications is desired.
Good verbal, written, and motor skills appropriate for the tasks and to work with a cross section of personnel.
Candidates with background in semiconductor processes and devices is a plus.
Should have an ability to perform basic tool troubleshooting and interact with maintenance personnel and vendors; an ability to work with and around potentially hazardous materials; and have training in the safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
Must be able to follow detailed instructions, pay attention to detail, and accurately enter data.
Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environment
Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing work assignments
Good time management and organizational skills
Ability to instantly adapt to a flexible and changing schedule
Computer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Required Education:
High School Diploma required. B.S. or Associates degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work safely in laboratory settings including semiconductor processing, metrology testing, and in Class 10 cleanroom facilities, wearing personal protective equipment.
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship status required with the ability to acquire and maintain security clearance.
Candidates should have flexibility to work on alternate shift schedules.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $36.79 - $44.87 per hour + bonus + benefits.
