Operations Controller – IRES Contract
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Salary Range: $130,000 – $170,000 DOE
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Controller to support the Integrated Research & Development for Enterprise Services (IRES) contract in Colorado Springs, CO. The Operations Controller will play a vital role in ensuring situational awareness and operational continuity for mission-critical enterprise systems and services across the Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to monitoring, coordinating, and reporting on operational status across complex IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor enterprise operations for system health, availability, and performance using various monitoring tools.
Coordinate real-time responses to outages, incidents, and service degradations; ensure timely escalation and resolution.
Maintain and distribute operational status updates and situational awareness reports to stakeholders and leadership.
Track and document scheduled and unscheduled service interruptions (Authorized Service Interruptions - ASIs).
Provide 24/7 mission support during shift-based operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Support operational reporting and analysis to improve situational awareness, operational tempo, and mission readiness.
Interface with system administrators, network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and government stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Active DoD Secret security clearance (TS/SCI preferred at time of application).
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience (4 additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
2–5 years of experience in IT operations, systems monitoring, network control center (NCC) or enterprise operations center (EOC) roles.
Experience working in a mission-critical or DoD/IC environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with senior leadership.
Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Netcool, HP OpenView, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
ITIL v4 Foundation certification or similar service management framework knowledge.
Experience with enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
Exposure to classified environments and secure facilities.
