TEKsystems is looking for an Aruba Network Resident Engineer in China Lake, CA. The target start date for this position is between 8/1-9/1 and we would like to start sourcing candidates as soon as possible.

Position Description:
The Network Engineer will provide onsite support to the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, working under the direction of the Government to design, optimize, implement, and maintain datacenter networking infrastructure. This role will primarily focus on Aruba datacenter networking solutions, including spine-leaf architecture, top-of-rack networking optimization, and security/access management through Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the client and stakeholders to ensure high-performance, secure, and scalable network operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and Implementation: Architect and deploy Aruba datacenter networking solutions, including 8300/6300 switches (spine-leaf architecture). - Design and implement top-of-rack (TOR) networking solutions to optimize datacenter performance. Configure and deploy Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager for secure, role-based network access and policy enforcement.
• Network Configuration and Optimization: Perform advanced configurations for Aruba 8300/6300 switches to optimize traffic flow and minimize latency. Optimize spine-leaf topologies for scalability and redundancy. Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting for network hardware/software issues as they arise.
• Security and Policy Management: Implement access control policies using Aruba ClearPass for enhanced network security. Monitor and mitigate network vulnerabilities in compliance with US Government security standards.
• Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate with US Government stakeholders and IT teams to align network designs with mission requirements. Provide regular status reports, technical recommendations, and updates to the client.
Required Skillsets:
• Extensive experience with Aruba datacenter networking hardware, including 8300/6300 switches. Deep understanding of spine-leaf architecture and top-of-rack (TOR) networking. Strong knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols (e.g., VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, EVPN)
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager. Experience with network security principles, including role-based access control and policy enforcement.
• Proven ability to optimize datacenter networks for scalability, redundancy, and performance. Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex networking issues. Effective communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in team environments and under customer direction. Familiarity with US DoD network security standards and compliance requirements. Strong documentation skills for tracking configurations, changes, and network designs.
Certifications / Education:
• US DoD Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP)
• Aruba Certified ClearPass Professional
• Industry-standard networking certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent
