Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

L·Garde is a full-service design, development, manufacturing, and qual-test supplier to Tier 1
primes and government agencies. We provide systems engineering and skilled technicians to
make your Skunk Works-type project a reality. With over 50 years of aerospace and defense
expertise, our deployable systems test the limits of what's possible in the harshest of
environments — in space, on the moon, and even on other planets.

We are seeking a diligent and resourceful Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our
team. If you are a proactive cybersecurity professional with a passion for protecting critical
systems and making an impact in national security, this role is for you.

A Day in the Life:

As an ISSO at L·Garde, you will help secure and protect complex systems in a classified
aerospace and defense environment. You will collaborate with leadership, IT, and compliance
teams to ensure that cybersecurity controls meet stringent federal requirements. You will drive
compliance initiatives, monitor security posture, and actively safeguard the systems that make
critical projects a success.

Key Responsibilities:
Cybersecurity & Compliance
•Support implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity
controls in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

•Maintain and update System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, risk assessments, and
continuous monitoring documentation.

•Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits using tools
such as Nessus, SCAP/STIG, or PowerShell.

•Collaborate with the CFO and IT Manager to ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-171,
CMMC 2.0, DFARS 252.204-7012, and other applicable cybersecurity standards.

•Develop and maintain security documentation, including SSPs and incident response
plans.

Technical Operations
•Support account provisioning, patch management, secure configurations, and network
monitoring.

•Evaluate and recommend security solutions that meet DoD and federal requirements
for processing classified information.

•Participate in security authorization activities, including Risk Assessment Reports,
Certification and Accreditation packages, and System Requirements Traceability
Matrices (SRTMs).

•Support security awareness training and insider threat mitigation programs.

•Maintain thorough documentation for all security-related processes, changes, and
configurations.

•Interface with external auditors and DoD/DCSA representatives during inspections and
assessments.

•Promote a positive security culture and set an example for compliance and accurate
record-keeping.

Teamwork & Communication
•Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, vendors, and government
stakeholders.

•Work independently or in collaboration with a small, high-trust team to solve complex
problems and maintain mission readiness.

•Contribute to a culture of proactive security and continuous improvement.

Who You Are:
•Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related
field — or equivalent experience.

•At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, IT administration,
or compliance in a defense or aerospace environment.

•Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC 2.0, DFARS 252.204-7012, and RMF processes.

•Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and cybersecurity tools (e.g.,
Nessus, SIEM, endpoint protection).

•Strong understanding of IT systems, networking, security policies, process controls, and
IT operations.

•Advanced knowledge of security principles such as defense in depth, zero trust, least
privilege, separation of duties, access controls, and encryption.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly document
policies, incidents, and technical processes.

•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

•Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities, and work in a fast-paced, mission-driven
environment.

•Maintains Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance.

•DoD Directive 8570.1 IAM Level I or higher certification, such as a COMPTIA Security plus
certification.
