Job Summary
B&A is looking for an IT Management Specialist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. The IT Management Specialist provides end-to-end project management and analytical support for Joint Staff J6's enterprise IT Benchmarking Program. You will coordinate assessment cycles, capture critical data during site visits, and translate findings into concise executive briefings and actionable improvement roadmaps. Your work ensures the J6 sustains a robust, repeatable framework for comparing IT services against best-in-class performance and driving measurable service enhancements across the Department of Defense.

Job Summary
B&A is looking for an IT Management Specialist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. You will coordinate assessment cycles, capture critical data during site visits, and translate findings into concise executive briefings and actionable improvement roadmaps. Your work ensures the J6 sustains a robust, repeatable framework for comparing IT services against best-in-class performance and driving measurable service enhancements across the Department of Defense.
Responsibilities
- Develop integrated master schedules, track milestones/suspense dates, and drive execution of assessment tasks.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and action-item trackers for project and stakeholder meetings.
- Draft and distribute pre-assessment questionnaires; evaluate responses for completeness and clarity.
- Conduct customer interviews, document results, and craft follow-up questions to probe performance gaps.
- Capture real-time comments, observations, and metrics during subject-matter-expert (SME) interviews.
- Consolidate findings and develop out-brief slides for senior J6 leadership (GO/SES level).
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into a final report outlining observations, recommendations, and best-practice alternatives.
- Maintain a living log of improvement opportunities and monitor closure of assigned actions.
- Design and publish standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, checklists, and tools that institutionalize the IT benchmarking lifecycle.
- Curate artifacts in a SharePoint-based process library to improve discoverability and reuse.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (experience may be substituted for education).
- 2+ years' hands-on experience in IT management within industry, government, or consulting.
- 5+ years' experience in contingency contracting or direct use/administration of contingency tools (e.g., JOCAS, ACES-FO, COR/TOPS).
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to benchmark IT services against external standards and identify best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project (or equivalent), Excel (pivot tables, formulas), Access, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Proven track record managing schedules, risk, and stakeholder communications for multi-site IT initiatives.
Security Clearance
- Must hold an active secret clearance.
