Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin's outstanding Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity, and reliability. The Life Extension 2 team is an organization within the greater FBM program which supports the development of the Next Generation System by developing concepts, researching, and maturing technologies to support the development of the next FBM Missile System.

What does this role look like?

Lockheed Martin is looking for a multifaceted, hardworking Project Engineer to support FBM LE2 development efforts in Englewood, CO.

As a Project Engineering Manager , you will:

• Assist in advising all phases of programs from inception through completion.
• Be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Be responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
• Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
• Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
• Act as secondary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
• Develop new business or expands the product line with the customer.
• Establish achievements and supervise alignment to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
• Advise the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
• Ensure that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures, schedules, and work plans.
• Support Ad hoc tasking by Program Technical Leaders.

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelor degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience in Project Execution or Program Management (or similar role), supporting programs achieve cost, schedule, and technical goals.
• Functional leadership experience.
• Experience developing executable program plans and baselines.
• Experience presenting at customer-facing Program Reviews.
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• Eligibility & willingness to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

• Experience with DOD Customers.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Engineering (Systems, Industrial, or the like).
• Lean Six Sigma Certified (Green or Black Belt).
• Familiar with FBM processes and Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance, and/or Controls systems.
• Formal Cost Account Manager (CAM) training or EVM experience.
• Experience working with contracts greater than 10M/annual.
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
