We are currently seeking an Information Systems Security Specialist III to join our growing team in support of a critical DoD client in Philadelphia, PA, focused on Propulsion, Power & Auxiliary Machinery Systems Cybersecurity.

Position Summary:

As an Information Systems Security Specialist III, you will provide direct cybersecurity support and expertise to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission-critical systems. You will work closely with engineering teams and DoD leadership to assess security risks, analyze logs and events, automate processes, and recommend and implement cybersecurity controls in accordance with DoD and NIST standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed analysis of security logs and events to identify and investigate anomalies and potential security incidents.
  • Utilize a variety of cybersecurity tools to collect, correlate, and analyze system data.
  • Develop and maintain automated scripts to streamline and improve cybersecurity processes.
  • Assess security impacts based on identified vulnerabilities or threats and prepare formal risk analysis reports.
  • Present technical findings and risk assessments through appropriate channels up to senior leadership.
  • Support the implementation and continuous monitoring of cybersecurity controls aligned with DoD RMF processes.
  • Assist with system hardening and ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity directives and policies.
  • Collaborate with system owners and developers to integrate security best practices into system lifecycles.


Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical-related discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Engineering).
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in:
    • Security log/event analysis
    • Use of data collection and security monitoring tools
    • Security process automation via scripting
    • Risk analysis and formal reporting
  • Certifications: Must meet IAM Level II requirements with one or more of the following certifications:
    • CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, or HCISPP
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
  • Other Desired Skills:
    • Familiarity with Windows OS security features and controls (Windows certifications a plus)
    • Strong understanding of NIST 800-53 and DoD RMF processes
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
