Annapolis Junction, MD (On-Site/Office)
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a skilled Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join a large DHS federal program out of Annapolis Junction, MD, as they transition to a SAFe agile environment. This role requires an Active Secret Clearance and is a fully onsite position.
Responsibilities of the Release Train Engineer:
· Drive SAFe Agile transformation by partnering with leadership
· Coach teams and leaders in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean to build self-sustaining, high-performing teams
· Facilitate key Agile ceremonies, including Scrum of Scrums, PI Planning, and retrospectives across value streams
· Improve delivery flow by identifying bottlenecks, eliminating blockers, and promoting automation.
· Support Scrum Masters and teams in estimation, planning, and consistent sprint execution.
· Monitor Agile metrics (velocity, cycle time, etc.)
Qualifications of the Release Train Engineer:
· 10+ years of experience with Agile, SAFe framework
· Certified in an Agile framework - SAFe RTE Certification (highly preferred)
· Extensive experience with PI planning and scrum ceremonies
· Hands-on experience managing cross functional teams in Agile/SAFe environments
· ServiceNow experience highly preferred
· Must have an Active Secret Clearance
Compensation of the Release Train Engineer:
· Compensation: between $150,000 - $170,000 based on years of relevant experience
