The Software Engineer II develops, maintains, and enhances complex software systems that solve customer and user problems. This role brings breadth across software development skills and depth in specific technologies like languages and frameworks that allows them to build effective software solutions. The Software Engineer II shares in the responsibility with other software engineers and team members to deliver maintainable solutions.

• Debugs existing software and corrects defects.
• Performs manual exploratory testing individually and with the team, as appropriate for
the project test strategy.
• Advises the team on specific implementation options that meet business
requirements.
• Contributes actively in team Agile processes through collaboration, discussion, and/or
preparation.
• Provides feedback to improve the team's technical procedures

- Cloud Transition & Modernization: Move legacy systems to secure, scalable cloud environments with minimal disruption.
- Application Modernization: Refactor or re-platform outdated software to modern architectures.
- Program & Systems Engineering: Deliver PMO support, systems design, R&D, M&S, and software engineering.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Ensure RMF/ATO, Zero Trust, and FedRAMP compliance across all systems.
- Data Integration & ETL: Provide automated ingestion and transformation of USMC data using tools like Apache NiFi and ECR.
- IT & Web Support: Ensure operational support, interface design, disaster recovery, and web application maintena

Work Experience

- Three (3) years of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area.
- Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
Project Specific Qualifications:
This role includes additional qualifications to help us deliver bold, impactful work for our clients.
- Provides high level consulting and planning for transitioning from an on-premise technology architecture to a cloud-based architecture.
- Perform discovery and requirements gathering meetings with key stakeholders to identify the high-level business and technology goals, and the drivers for considering a transition to the Cloud.
- Develop a recommendation for transitioning along with a high-level roadmap with major milestones. Identify high-level cost estimates to provide order of magnitude comparisons between transition options, and to approximate return on investment timeframes.
- Note: Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
Education:
