Software Engineer
As required by the government client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.
Cherokee Federal is seeking a Software Engineer, with strong skills in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or other highly science-focused areas to meet a planned schedule of milestones and deliverables within the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS) Mid-Band Propagation program, sponsored by the Department of Defense, Office of the Chief Information Officer (DOD CIO).
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Software Engineer: $105,000 - $120,000
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with researchers to define and create software systems that collect, process, and analyze complex scientific datasets.
- Utilize skills in mathematics, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, and software engineering to further multi-domain projects inherent to ITS's strategic goals.
- Design, develop, and adapt mathematical models, statistical methods, and computer science techniques to solve complex technical problems.
- Independent task execution in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Develop software implementations using a variety of software languages, applications, and frameworks.
- Present technical information at external conferences, sponsor meetings, and team status meetings. Contribute to documentation and technical publications.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Software Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- BS in Computer Science with at least 15 semester hours in mathematics or statistics, + 6-10 years' experience; OR
- MS in Computer Science with at least 15 semester hours in mathematics or statistics, + 5-7 years' experience.
- Ability to design and develop complex software applications.
- Experience using experimental, engineering, and statistical data to generate statistically conclusive results.
- Skills in test-driven software development under Agile project management and git source control.
- Advanced programming skills in at least one of these languages: C/C++, Python, C#, MATLAB.
- Working knowledge of project management principles and experience communicating project status .
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
