OPS Consulting is seeking a Linux Engineer to work in Laurel, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for analyzing, designing and executing the requirements of the Linux Solution to include Red Hat and Rocky Linux in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems
  • Analytically and systematically evaluates problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action
  • Responsible for the system requirements, interface definitions (internal as well as external)
  • Manages team's full life cycle system implementation efforts
  • Subject matter in one or more Linux Technologies to include integration points and adjacent technologies
  • Provide reach back to Red Hat and /or CIQ rocky Linus engineering in order to obtain and/or request hotfixes, future enhancements, or product road map visibility
  • Must be knowledge of the following: Red Hat Linux, Rocky Linux, Ansible, Network Automation, System Automation Linux scripting

Required Skills:
  • Experience developing technical plans for complex capability development
  • Demonstrated expertise in test plans, procedures, and test result analysis
  • Experience writing, reviewing, and presenting technical documentation at the program level
  • Experience with system design and requirements management
  • Experience overseeing technical reviews


Level 1:
  • Minimum of seven 7 years of relevant SE experience.
  • BS in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Level 2:
  • Minimum of 14 years of relevant SE experience.
  • BS in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Level 3:
  • Minimum of 20 years of relevant SE experience.
  • BS in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Security Clearance:
  • A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
