GENERAL DUTIES:

CLEARANCE:
- Strategic Planning & Policy Integration: Provide technical and strategic expertise to develop and implement SOCNORTH plans, strategies, and policies in alignment with USNORTHCOM, USSOCOM, DoD, and CJCS directives.
- SOF Campaign Planning: Lead the development and sustainment of SOCNORTH's Campaign Support Plan (CSP), inputs to CONPLANs, OPLANs, and the USSOCOM Campaign Plan for Global Special Operations (CP-GSO).
- Joint & Interagency Coordination: Collaborate with key stakeholders including USNORTHCOM, the Joint Staff, USSOCOM, JPRA, AFNORTH, and other components to ensure integration and deconfliction of SOF equities across planning efforts.
- Multidomain Planning Expertise: Apply expertise across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains to inform strategy and planning efforts for Counterterrorism (CT), Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD), Counter Transnational Criminal Organizations (CTOC), Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA), and Homeland Defense (HD) missions.
- JPP & Crisis Response Leadership: Lead or support Joint Planning Groups (JPGs) and Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), applying knowledge of the Joint Planning Process (JPP) to develop COAs and inform SOCNORTH's crisis response operations.
- Political-Military Advisory: Serve as a subject matter expert for foreign policy and political-military affairs related to SOF integration and theater-level strategy, particularly in coordination with civilian agencies.
- Policy & Strategic Guidance Analysis: Analyze the impact of strategic-level documents such as the National Security Strategy, NMS, NDS, UCP, JSCP, and GFM on SOF roles, responsibilities, and planning within the USNORTHCOM AOR.
- Senior Leader Engagement Preparation: Prepare Commander SOCNORTH for senior engagements with the Joint Staff, OSD, IC, Congress, and COCOMs by highlighting SOF capabilities, limitations, and strategic value.
- Operational-Acquisition Linkage: Facilitate alignment of operational SOF requirements with acquisition processes and capability development.
- Exercise & Crisis Support: Participate in and support national-level exercises and contingency operations. Serve on the Crisis Response Team (CRT) when required. Availability for short-notice TDY and extended duty hours is expected.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience within Special Operations units or Special Operations staffs conducting military operational planning in support of real-world operations, exercises, and investments.
