Leidos’ Defense Systems Sector’s Missile & Aviation Systems Division is seeking a Engineering and Integration Department Manager to join our team! This is an onsite position located in Huntsville, Alabama.

Leidos is seeking a talented leader and team-oriented engineer/scientist to serve as Department Manager within the Missile & Aviation Systems Division. This Department Manager will work directly with the Division Manager and other leaders from the Department & larger Division to ensure the responsibilities of the Department are being met.
The Department Manager will maintain awareness of key issues within the Department and make decisions to further the mission of the Department/Division. The Department Manager’s primary responsibilities will include overseeing hiring/recruiting, managing staffing across six Branches with different technical goals, retaining key personnel, supporting business development & strategic goal planning within the Division, and working with the Division Manager/Staff to ensure communication and alignment of business & technical goals.
The Department Manager will also have a general understanding of the technical work performed by the six Branches within the Department, so the ideal candidate will have experience in Aerodynamics, Mechanical, Electrical and Systems Engineering as well as Unmanned Flight Operations and Integration and Testing. The Department Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Department’s Senior Staff, ensuring consistent tasking in accordance with their level of technical expertise.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science from an accredited institution
- 20+ years of engineering/management experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including demonstrated ability to manage risk while gaining the confidence of customers, technical staff, managers and peers.
- Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- US Citizen and possess or be eligible to obtain (and be able to maintain) an active/final TS Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience/exposure to either military or intelligence areas in order to further develop/maintain relationships with existing and future customers.
- Highly desirable to have integrated system development experience that leverages the strong analytical capabilities of the Department
- Candidates with a MS degree in aerospace or systems engineering are preferable.
- Active TS Clearance
- Given the importance of being able to keep track of all aspects of the work conducted within the Department, a TS clearance is an asset.
