We are seeking a self-directed and motivated individual to join our team as a DevOps Engineer in support of a Dept. of Defense program. In this role, you will provide with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) using a pipeline to automatically take committed code, run it through tests, and optionally, deploy that code into production. This is a prime opportunity to add to your DevOps tech stack while supporting U.S. Space Force.
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the DevOps team and Integration Test Engineers to ensure system integrity.
  • Design, develop, test and debug new features or enhancements to existing services.
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management.
  • Build and test automation tools for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS).
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve DevOps environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations.
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery.
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes.
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages.
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team in an Agile environment.
  • Employ best industry practices.
Education/Qualifications

Required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen AND possess an active U.S. Dept. of Defense Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience with DevOps and software testing.
  • Experience with full lifecycle of software systems including development, testing and deployment.
  • Experience with Ansible in production environments.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Hands-on experience with building and managing release systems, code merging and promotion, and CI/CD workflows and tools.
  • Experience working with and delivering using Agile practices.
  • General virtualization/containerization experience, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with geographically dispersed team.

Preferred
  • Active U.S. Dept. of Defense TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Python scripting experience.
  • General networking experience.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, especially AWS.
  • Experience with Platform as a Service (PAAS).
  • Experience with revision control source code repositories such as GitLab, SVN, Mercurial, and Perforce.

For this role, the compensation range for candidates in Colorado is ($97K- $150K) . Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. FTI has a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
