Description:F-22 Flight Manual Technical Writer (Level 2)
Location: Fort Worth TX
What You Will Be Doing
Join our team supporting the world's premier 5th-generation air dominance platform-the F-22 Raptor. As a Flight Manual Technical Writer, you'll play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and updating the technical documentation that ensures safe and effective aircraft operation for pilots around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, revise, and sustain F-22 Flight Series Technical Orders (TOs), including Flight Manuals and pilot checklists.
- Translate engineering data, certification changes, and operational feedback into clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation.
- Support flight manual data conversions and author content resulting from engineering changes, customer requests, Flight Manual Review Conferences (FMRCs), and SEEK EAGLE certifications.
- Create and update materials such as Normal and Emergency Operating Procedures, System Descriptions, Aircraft Performance Data, Carriage and Operating Limitations, and Pilot In-Flight Checklists
- Collaborate with engineering teams to verify technical content through both desktop analysis and real-world validation efforts (on-site and off-site as required).

Basic Qualifications:
Experience with the use and interpretation of Flight Series publications and forms (e.g., military/civilian flight manuals or weapons employment/delivery)
Flight/flight training experience (e.g., pilot, flight engineer, flight training - simulator or actual), or extensive weapons/avionics system background (Civilian or Military)
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Interim Secret Clearance Required
Desired Skills:
Pilot/weapons employment/delivery experience
Experience in use aircraft weapons and/or flight series manuals
Experience interpreting AFI 11-215 and Military Standards/Specifications
Prior experience interacting with leadership, customers, and peers in a "team" environment
Interpretation and communication of complex engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications
Standard Group Markup Language (SGML) and experience using Epic Editor, Isodraw, Arbor Text Tool Suite, and/or QuickSilver
Authoring in S1000D specification database
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
