The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a highly qualified and trained Senior Technical Writer / Editor to support U.S. Army customers at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.

Your Main Mission:
The Senior Technical Writer will lead a team of Technical Writers and be designated as a Key Personnel on the program leadership team. The Senior Technical Writer will support a variety of engineering projects, including; research & development, prototyping, integration, test and evaluation, cybersecurity, and software development.

Pay Range: Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00

Your Main Mission:
The Senior Technical Writer will lead a team of Technical Writers and be designated as a Key Personnel on the program leadership team. The Senior Technical Writer will support a variety of engineering projects, including; research & development, prototyping, integration, test and evaluation, cybersecurity, and software development.
- Responsible for leading a team of other technical writers
- Ensures all program deliverables are checked for formatting and readability
- Communicates deliverable status and metrics to program leadership
- Interacts with engineering and functional leads to understand deliverable requirements and expectations
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12+ years relevant years of work experience
- Top Secret clearance eligible for access to SCI and a Counterintelligence polygraph
- Defense industry experience with editing narrative and graphical products to identify and correct grammatical formatting, and readability, and logic errors and to identify technical inconsistencies that will require engineers’ attention.
- Experience with a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, and graphical-art applications to produce test plants, test procedures, test reports, technical manuals, procedure, graphics, and scheduling tools.
- Experience with the creation, compilation, and delivery of complex system / software developmental documentation packages such as narratives, logic diagrams, input and output samples, input preparation instructions, job setup information from technical project team inputs, system requirements analysis, system design specifications, technical system design, technical procedures development, configuration control requirements, test and training specifications, and programming notes.
- Extensive experience with the latest version of the following Military Standards: MIL-HDBK-310, MIL-HDBK-881, MIL-HDBK-1473, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-461 MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-961, MIL-STD-1425 MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD- 1474, NAVAIRINST 13034.2, NAVSEA OP 3565, and MIL-HDBK-245
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with 10 + years of relevant work experience
- Experience supporting Army customers
- Experience developing policies and procedures for new program startup
Clearance Required:
- Must possess a Top Secret clearance eligible for access to SCI and Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph or ability to obtain CI polygraph by contract start
